Does your project need to be notified to HSE?

Answer a few questions about the expected duration and workforce for your construction project. We will assess whether it is likely to be notifiable to the Health and Safety Executive under the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015.

This checker covers projects in England, Scotland and Wales. Different arrangements apply in Northern Ireland.

1. Project location

This checker assesses notification to the Health and Safety Executive in Great Britain.

2. Client type

A commercial client commissions construction work as part of a business. A domestic client commissions work that is not connected with a business.

3. Expected construction working days

Count every day on which construction work is expected to take place, including weekends and bank holidays. Do not enter the total number of calendar days if no construction work will take place on some of those days.

4. Peak number of simultaneous workers

Enter the highest number expected to be working simultaneously at any point during the project, not the total number of different workers involved.

5. Estimated person-days
